Heart and Stroke Health Partnership
What is the Heart and Stroke Health Partnership? The Heart and Stroke Health Partnership was formed in 1995 in response to a community assessment that identified heart disease and stroke as important health issues in Guilford County. Volunteers from the community and volunteers from area organizations and agencies make up our organization.
The Partnership strives to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke in Guilford County by: Facilitating collaboration among organizations and individuals. Promoting effective policies and environmental changes. Facilitating and conducting activities to support positive individual lifestyle choices. Identifying and utilizing community resources.
Our Activities: The Partnership’s activities include: Developing the tools to organize and maintain a neighborhood walking group. Drawing media attention to those who are using healthy lifestyle changes (exercise, better nutritional choices, losing weight) to improve their health Working on projects that will provide walkers with safe areas to walk.
